After winter and spring swim lessons and a summer at the spray park, Sam is in need of a new swim suit. Prior to Christmas I looked for the two piece Speedos that Costco tends to start carrying around this time, but they didn’t have them.
After spending hours in the pool during our Christmas trip to Los Cabos Sam’s poor little suit is now in dire need of replacement. Upon returning home we did another Costco run and we looked for swim suits, but they only had Hello Kitty ones, no Speedos.
I explained to Sam that I didn't want to these other suits because the one piece suits usually don’t fit her well and the two piece suits had a strap with clasp at the back of the neck which tends to be uncomfortable. I wanted to wait for them to get the Speedos in as they fit well and tend to last roughly 11 ½ months. Sam said "okay."
We continued our shopping. While in route to the produce I squeezed Sam's hand and said "thank you for not throwing a fit about the swimsuits." Her reply was priceless "Oh, it's okay I just forgot." To try and clarify I asked, "You just forgot to throw a fit?" Sam said "u-huh" and merrily trotted toward the shopping cart.
The family had an enjoyable trip to Mexico. While there, I continued to be plagued with frequent headaches, lack of sleep, and depression for which I am getting help. I still feel bad as this really interrupted my ability to interact and play with the kids like I’m used to and long to do again. On the last day or so I did begin feeling a bit more “normal,” but after catching the red-eye home and not being able to sleep more than a couple hours(which has been the norm since early November) I had an emotional crash.
Sam’s nonchalant comment was timed so right. Thank you Sam for helping me laugh.

That looks like a beautiful place to take a family vacation.
I hope you'll be able to sleep and feel better soon, Karla. Sleep deprivation is not fun, and it seems to make everything feel worse. May God bless you with deep, healing rest!
What a sweetie! Would that we all could "forget to have a fit!" the Texans say "You get what you get and you don't have a fit!"
If you want some advice/consoling re sleep issues, you might want to write to Bethany. She had severe insomnia for years but has beat it and has some great tricks and books she might be able to suggest. But not being able to sleep IS a sign of depression often, so working on that is really important!
