Family Day

Yesterday we overslept, not by much, but enough that we would have had to rush to get Sam to school. Since school started Sam has complained that she doesn’t see me enough and that she should only go to school on the days I work or I should only work on the days she has school.

I saw our oversleeping as an opportunity to “take a day” and play hooky. I used to do this periodically when Mandi was little too. It was always a nice break to just enjoy the day without having to rush. It also left both of us feeling a little extra special.

Mike agreed with my suggestion. I called the school and then we got ready for our family day. As I’ve read fabulous things about it on other blogs we headed South to the Everett Children’s Museum.

It was wonderful. Sam zipped here and there and explored almost every area (she didn’t see the water area, but I had packed extra clothes just in case). We did spend a lot of time on the rooftop play equipment, the theater, and the craft station.

Mike showing Sam how it's done.
Busy kid exploring EVERYTHING!

James liked digging too.

Rescuing animals.

He put the hat on himself.  This little guy LOVES hats.

Everytime Mike would get up, James would pat the seat and call him back.  He adores his Daddy.

Sam making Grandpa Bob's famous pizza.  She could have stayed all day.

What a great place, I’m sure we’ll be back again soon.

We love love love that museum and Caleb has that on the top of his list whenever he visits from Texas. Well, that and about 20 other things!!! Caleb just started kindergarten and on day 4 he asked Bethany: "Will I EVER get to play with my TOYS again?" Poor kids, don't realize what a long road ahead school turns out to be :-)
